The objective of GALA Conf is to provide an international forum for the dissemination and exchange of scientific information on theoretical, technical, and applied areas of serious games. These objectives are accomplished through different means: presentation sessions, workshops, keynote speeches, a poster session, an exhibition, and a game competition.

GALA Conference 2025 (14th edition) is an event organized by the Serious Games Society in collaboration with Utrecht University, The Netherlands. The Serious Games Society is building an international scientific community for shaping future research in the field. This community represents a significant blend of industrial and academic professionals committed to the study, development, and deployment of serious games as useful and effective tools to support better teaching, learning, training, and assessment.

GALA Conference Proceedings published by

The GALA Conference 2025 Proceedings will be published on Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS, indexed by Scopus), and the best papers in a special issue of the International Journal of Serious Games, indexed by ESCI, WoS, and Scopus, like previous years. More information will be shared in due course.

Crossover events

In the same week as the GALA Conf, on the 18th of November, Dutch Digra will take place in Utrecht as well, giving rise to the “Week of the Game”. Check the link below for further information about the event.

We are glad to announce that the 10th ITRA World Conference will be held 5-7 August, 2026 at Augsburg University in Augsburg, Germany.
